With Matthew Stafford re-signing with the Rams, the Las Vegas Raiders once again find themselves without a franchise quarterback. Meanwhile, the Cleveland Browns are dealing with the aftermath of what can only be described as a disastrous gamble on Deshaun Watson. Both teams need a shake-up, and a potential trade could provide exactly that.
Watson was shipped to Cleveland amid allegations of serial misconduct, a move that saw the Browns part ways with America’s sweetheart, Baker Mayfield, in favor of a piece of shit
quarterback with more than 20 sexual misconduct allegations. The gamble has yet to pay off. Now, with Watson due for a massive payday and Cleveland rumored to be eyeing a quarterback in the upcoming draft, the writing is on the wall Watson’s time in Cleveland may be coming to an end.
The Raiders, desperate for a quarterback and boasting the second-largest cap space in the league, could be a logical landing spot. From a football standpoint, the move makes sense. Las Vegas is still years away from serious contention, meaning they could take a low-risk flyer on Watson. If he doesn’t work out, they can cut ties without long-term consequences. If he does, the Raiders could find themselves back in the playoff picture.
The biggest question is whether the Raiders notoriously rowdy fanbase would care about Watson’s baggage. If he wins games, the likely answer is no. Controversy aside, he would undoubtedly provide entertainment, something the Raiders have always thrived on. And, let’s be hones Las Vegas is the one place where Watson’s

off-field habits might not seem so out of place. This is the Raiders we’re talking about.
While the idea of Watson in Vegas is unsettling for many, on the field, it might just be the perfect fit, even without lube.
